Friends of Fairlawn

“Friends of Fairlawn" is our school PTA.

We are a registered Charity (number 1187910).

Our mission statement is:

· To support the school in providing a happy, healthy and welcoming environment for all Fairlawn pupils and their families.

· To facilitate the provision of resources and events that are fun and stimulating for all Fairlawn pupils and their families.

· To strengthen the connection between the school, its community and our environment.

 

OUR EVENTS

We fundraise and organise many events such as bake sales, the Summer and Winter fairs, School discos, and Quizzes.

We are always interested to hear of new ideas and suggestions for fundraising events and welcome all help! If you are planning on doing a sponsored event, do bear us in mind.

Some examples of what we have done over the last few years include providing a huge box of Lego for every class (for engineering projects and Lego therapy), funding an online safety workshop to create and train School Pupil Ambassadors, providing the cookery equipment for the STEAM room, providing friendship benches for the playgrounds, and much more.

We have a focus on ‘nature’ for 2022/23 and have ongoing projects with the aim of greening the school and providing educational based activities and opportunities for children to explore and learn from the natural environment.

SUPPORT THE FRIENDS OF FAIRLAWN

We currently have a small core committee and many wonderful volunteers who help when they can. The committee comprises of Co-chairs (Carla and Susan), Secretary (Sim), and Treasurer (Tom) and each year group also has a representative.

Classlist was launched at Fairlawn in 2022. It is being used for all Friends of Fairlawn communications and notifications of events. Classlist is an app which can be used for connecting, messaging and events in a safe and inclusive way.
