Active Travel

At Fairlawn School, we are committed to fostering a healthy, safe, and environmentally friendly community for our students and their families. We proudly promote active travel, safer streets, and the Modeshift STARS initiative.

Active Travel: We encourage our students to walk, cycle, or scoot to school whenever possible. Active travel not only promotes physical health but also helps reduce traffic congestion and environmental impact. Our school provides secure bike and scooter storage to support these efforts.

Safer Streets: Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority. We are working closely with local authorities to implement measures that will make the streets around our school safer for everyone. This may include traffic calming measures, improved signage, and regular safety campaigns.

 

Modeshift STARS: We are proud participants in the Modeshift STARS program, which recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in promoting sustainable travel. Through this initiative, we engage our students in fun and educational activities that highlight the benefits of active travel and environmental stewardship.
